10 Commonly Asked Questions About Modscape Modular Homes

4. For a modular build, how long will the onsite works take?

As the majority of the work is done in the factory, time spent on-site is minimal for a modular construction.

The Modscape team arrives 3-4 weeks before the installation date to handle any demolition, site preparation for services, and installing the screw pile footings. This takes place concurrently with the house construction at our Melbourne factory. Installation using a crane typically takes just one day. In about 2-4 weeks, our team will complete the final finishing touches and connect the house to your site services. After this, you are ready to move in.

Minimal time on-site is a major benefit for clients wanting to knock down their existing house and rebuild. Clients spend less time and money on renting as the overall downtime is reduced. Most of our clients are only out of their house for 5-7 weeks total. Read more about the benefits of modular construction for knock-down rebuild projects here.

You can also discover more about the Modscape process and watch a video on our Process Page.

5. Can I build a modular home in a high bushfire prone area?

Yes. With our steel frame construction, we can build up to and including Flame Zone. With a high Bushfire Attack Level (BAL) rating, there may be some material selections needed, but with Modscape, your structure remains unchanged.
