Has anyone tried an ozone machine from Amazon for ...

If you are wanting to clean more deeply into cushions and fabrics, run the ozone bulb for 5 minutes max and then still turn it off (you don't want the concentration of ozone in the vehicle to continue increasing), but don't open the doors right away, let the moderate concentration of ozone in the vehicle remain to slowly work its' way more deeply into the fabric and cushions and do it's job. Don't let it go too long though (multiple hours), because the ozone will degrade things like plastic and rubber slightly with moderate to high levels of exposure combined with duration in the same way the sun degrades stuff over time.

Just make sure you buy the type of UV bulb that actually generates ozone instead of the type that only puts out UV light. The UV only bulbs are designed to kill germs and smells in the air and on any surface the UV light actually touches without generating ozone at all. As a result, penetration into fabrics is weak and anywhere there is a shadow won't be treated. Great for sterilizing surfaces that are hard to close off or isolate and hit with ozone, but not very useful for treating vehicle interiors.

This is the bulb I use for ozone treatments. Coospider brand, made in China. I have been using the same bulb for a couple years now and it still works great.

You can have a great working setup for less than $40 if you don't spend too much money on the thrift store lamp.

A much cheaper option is to go to a local thrift store and buy a regular desk or tabletop lamp that accepts a standard edison screw base lightbulb. Then buy a relatively inexpensive UV ozone generating germicidal bulb from Amazon, screw it into the lamp, and put the whole setup into the vehicle. Buy a cheap opaque tarp and drape it over the vehicle's windows so you can't see any of the UV light exiting the windows during treatment because it's harmful to look at the UV light directly when the bulb is on. Run the bulb inside the closed vehicle for 5 minutes max. Then turn the bulb off and open all the car doors and let everything air out until the ozone smell is completely gone. It will likely take about 10-20 minutes to fully air out if you are doing everything outside. All there is to it. When running the UV ozone bulb, I connect a long extension cord to the lamp and leave the lamp's power switch turned on at all times. I turn the bulb on and off by plugging and unplugging the male end of the extension cord from outside the treatment area.If you are wanting to clean more deeply into cushions and fabrics, run the ozone bulb for 5 minutes max and then still turn it off (you don't want the concentration of ozone in the vehicle to continue increasing), but don't open the doors right away, let the moderate concentration of ozone in the vehicle remain to slowly work its' way more deeply into the fabric and cushions and do it's job.
