Cheap Diesel Heaters on eBay
Cheap Diesel Heaters on eBay
Most of the heaters on Ebay under about $900 are knock offs, I bought a cheapy and it failed, got money back after getting Ebay involved ended up buying off Pinnacle Wholesale from Ballarat ( an electrical repair mob ) who will talk on or and actually repair them if they break, been there done that....
I would buy one from someone here in Oz so you have warranty coverage not from some chinese reseller though, even overseas purchase won't have a warranty that is viable here as the dealers here don't seem to service what they don't sell due to the high amount of knock offs in the country I have gathered.
Have never heard of one catching fire or gassing anyone, possible I suppose if fitted incorrectly but they do have heat sensors which shut down fans and pump plus the wiring would melt pretty quick and stop things, I think gas stoves have caused more problems............................ I have fitted mine with an external power switch and extra fuse.
No checks or certification needed for fitment and I don't know about any ADR's regarding them.
Whatever you buy get one with the whole kit so you don't have to try source bits......,
Goto Sino Air to know more.

Same here with the exception of old diesel. First got my heater it had some in it and I burnt that for awhile and couldn't stand it. Switched to Kero and it smelled better. Got sick of paying for it ($15 for 2.5 Gal at menards) so I switched back to diesel and the fresh stuff had the same smell as the kero.
I can run mine for hours without getting a headache but my garage is also made from an old barn boards that was sided over it (prev owner) so there is lots of natural vents in there. It's also pretty good sizes as well (rougly 30x40) so both of those help.
My heater is also a multi-fuel so it is designed for either fuel as well as a few others.
