Our PVD coating, developed by our partner Double Stone Steel, is an innovation in the creation of coloured stainless steel making the surface significantly harder and more durable in the process. This is produced through the process of PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) Titanium Ion Plating which improves the performance of stainless steel by increasing wear, scratch and corrosion resistance. The durability of PVD coloured stainless steel is significantly superior to conventional coating methods such as electroplating or powder-coating.

Environmentally friendly

The PVD process is also more environmentally friendly than processes such as electroplating and painting, with zero discharge of gas, water waste or other residue.

The process for preparing stainless steel for PVD colouring involves cleaning with cloths and a plant-based solution only, no solvents or harsh chemicals are required and no toxic liquids are produced in the process.

Durable, UV light-stable and further properties

PVD coloured stainless steel is scratch resistant making it highly durable for high traffic and heavy- wear areas and creates a tough finish which is approximately ten times harder than stainless steel itself.

PVD coloured stainless steel is UV-light stable and does not fade. Note that this is with the exception of the colour Gun Metal.
