Cooling Tower Parts

The cooling tower is generally composed of filler (also known as cooling material)water distribution system, ventilation equipment, air distribution device, water drift eliminator, water collecting tank, water inlet and outlet pipes, etc. different combinations of the above structures can be constructed into different types of the cooling tower.

As a mature cooling tower manufacturer, we not only provide different types of cooling towers, but also various cooling tower spare parts.

You can choose from the following products according to your needs.

Cooling tower parts name and its function

Cooling Tower Shutters

Intake shutters are part of the cooling tower and block water spills, noise and debris. They also prevent sunlight from penetrating the cooling tower.

They also enhance airflow through the cooling tower while improving the appearance of the unit. If the shutters are not properly maintained, the cooling tower will not function properly.

Cooling Tower Filling Media

An important part of a cooling tower is the fill material/media. This is also known as the wet deck or surface.

Its primary function in a cooling tower is to expand the surface area of the cooling tower for optimal contact between air and water for as long as possible.

The filler also creates a thin flow sheet of water that may expose a large amount of water at the point of contact. This can lead to greater evaporation rates.

Cooling Tower Fans

Cooling towers of counterflow, crossflow and mechanical ventilation types are equipped with fans. The main function of these fans is to push air into the cooling tower.

Most cooling tower fans are noisy. However, there are quieter fans available. It is also possible to look for fans that are durable and can withstand the complexities of equipment use.

Cooling tower water removers

Another important component of a cooling tower is the cooling tower dewaterer. This part captures large water droplets in the airflow of the cooling tower. Water droplets contain chemicals and minerals that affect the environment.

At the same time, the dewaterer stops the water droplets from flowing out of the cooling tower. It changes the direction of the droplets, which hit the blade walls and return to the cooling water.

Highly efficient de-waterers keep undesirable losses of liquid water to less than 0.001% of the re-circulating water flow.

Cooling Tower Gearboxes

Cooling tower gearboxes are required for cooling towers with large fans and powerful motors. They act as speed reducers, slowing down the speed from the motor to the cooling tower fan.

Cooling tower gearboxes also act as torque multipliers to keep motors well sized. They also make mechanical systems more cost effective. Without these gearboxes, large and heavy motors would handle the torque required by the fan. This would be very expensive.

Cooling Tower Nozzles

Cooling tower float valves are needed to maintain the correct water level in the cooling tower. They regulate and control the water level, which helps extend the life of the cooling tower.

These float valves also require little maintenance. Typically, complete kits for float valves include a float arm, valve, and float.

Installation of the float valve setup requires trial and error, in which adjustments are needed to balance the make-up water with the tower. Remember, no water should be wasted in the overflow when the pump is off.

Cooling tower motor

Cooling tower motors are designed to drive fans on a type of cooling tower, such as a mechanically ventilated cooling tower. The motor must be efficient and durable to withstand the unfavorable atmosphere in the tower.

There are two types of cooling tower motors, open motors and fully enclosed motors.

Open motors generate outside air in the enclosure for cooling. Meanwhile, fully enclosed motors prevent outside air from passing through the housing.

We encourage you to take a look at our cooling tower components, which are also available at a low cost. For more detailed information and assistance, you can contact us.

We will be happy to fulfill your needs immediately. We will also briefly explain each cooling tower component and how it is used and installed.
